About Boracay

Boracay is one of the most iconic island destinations in the Philippines, known for its powdery white sand, clear blue water, and laid-back tropical atmosphere.

While White Beach is the island’s most famous stretch, Boracay offers a mix of experiences, from quiet corners and relaxed beachfront spots to lively bars, restaurants, and nightlife. It’s a destination that suits both slow travel and social, active holidays.

Beyond the beach, Boracay is also a hub for water activities, including kitesurfing, island hopping, and diving. With a wide range of accommodation, dining options, and things to do, it’s an easy and enjoyable place to spend time both in and out of the water.

Location

Boracay is located in the central Philippines and is easily accessible from Manila. The closest airport is Caticlan (MPH), just a 45-minute flight, followed by a short 5 to 10-minute boat transfer to the island.

Alternative routes include Kalibo (KLO), around two hours by land and boat, or Iloilo (ILO), approximately six hours away.

Diving in Boracay

Why Dive in Boracay
Boracay may be best known for its beaches, but it’s also an underrated dive destination with a surprising variety of sites. From shallow coral reefs to wrecks and deeper drift dives, there’s something here for every level, from beginners to experienced divers.

Most dive sites are just 5 to 15 minutes by boat from White Beach, making diving easy and convenient. This accessibility also makes Boracay a great place to learn, with the ability to build skills progressively and return to shore between dives.

Seasons and Best Time to Dive

Diving in Boracay is possible year-round, with conditions changing depending on the season.

From October to May, most dive sites along White Beach are accessible, with visibility typically ranging from 15 to 25 meters. These months offer the most consistent conditions.

From June to September, diving shifts to the east side of the island at Bulabog Beach. This season opens access to quieter dive sites, including the island’s bat cave. While weather can be less predictable, visibility can be excellent on good days, sometimes exceeding 30 meters.

Water temperatures remain warm throughout the year, averaging 28–30°C, and slightly cooler at 24–26°C between December and February.
